One of the first African-led bands to break into the British mainstream, Osibisa helped define the sound of Afro-rock in 1970s Europe. Formed in London by Ghanaian saxophonist Teddy Osei, the group fused highlife traditions with rock, jazz, funk, soul, and psychedelic influences—creating a vibrant, globally resonant sound.

Pioneers of Afro-fusion, Osibisa's Ojah Awake (1976) translates from Twi as "Fire Awake" - a spiritual call to awaken your inner fire.

This commercially polished Bronze label record blends traditional highlife rhythms with disco-era sheen. More high-energy African grooves including the fan favorites "Dance the Body Music" and "The Coffee Song".
