At the Gate of Horn was originally released in 1959 on Vee-Jay Records. It expertly showcases the songwriting prowess of the prolific blues pianist and singer, from blues ballads to upbeat numbers. Among the diverse track list is “Steppin’ Out” which gained reverence among blues rockers and remains one of Slim’s best-known tracks. Featuring the original liner notes written by Studs Terkel, this newly remastered album has been pressed on 180- gram vinyl at QRP and is housed in a replica tip-on jacket.
