Numbered and Pressed Exclusively at the Legendary Tuff Gong International Headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica; Mastered by Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters in Los Angeles
The Marley Family, Tuff Gong, and UMe commemorate Bob Marley's 78th birthday with the release of twelve Bob Marley vinyl LPs, each numbered and pressed exclusively at the legendary Tuff Gong International headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica, featuring nine original studio albums and two original live albums, plus the world's best-selling reggae album, Legend, all including a highly-desirable Tuff Gong stamp. The albums were pressed at Tuff Gong's newly refurbished vinyl pressing plant, which re-opened in the summer of 2020 and has an annual capacity of 250,000 units. Each album was mastered by Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters in Los Angeles.
Rastaman Vibration proved to be Bob Marley's American/commercial breakthrough, climbing to No. 8 on the Billboard 200. The album paired hard-hitting tracks such as "War" (essentially a musical recitation of a speech by Haile Selassie, the Ethiopian emperor considered a prophet of Rastafarianism) with lighter fare such as "Positive Vibration." Bob Marley & The Wailers were declared Rolling Stone's Band of the Year for 1976. "Marley, like Dylan, has transcended genre," wrote the magazine. "You only have to see him on stage, a dancing dervish, dreadlocks wind-milling, to realize that here is a rock & roll star." Numbered and pressed exclusively at the legendary Tuff Gong International headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica.
