Whereas with earlier efforts, such as 2011's self-released\u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e Winner\u003c\/em\u003e or the landmark 2014 release \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eDSU\u003c\/em\u003e, he'd write numerous songs fairly quickly, with \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHouse of Sugar\u003c\/em\u003e Giannascoli worked at a steadier pace, concentrating on fewer songs and laboring over each one more than before. Throughout the process Giannascoli worked closely with Jacob Portrait, who mixed both \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eRocket \u003c\/em\u003eand its predecessor, 2015's \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eBeach Music,\u003c\/em\u003e and here helped to balance each of \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHouse of Sugar's\u003c\/em\u003e dense, multi-faceted tracks.
